My background in Millinery was developed through advanced college training, master classes and tutoring by Australian and International Master Milliners. I have found inspiration in exhibitions such as the exquisite ‘Valentino Retrospective’ and ‘Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones’.
I am especially drawn to the timeless elegance of the classic fashion houses and the glamour of the golden Hollywood era. Using innovative techniques, I use my personal interpretation to develop contemporary creations.
My work reflects the passion I feel for the individuality of fabrics, particularly fine lustrous silks of exceptional colours and rare beauty. Each work is an individual sculpture and is designed to provide a rich embellishment to an outfit to portray the wearer’s personality.
Enriching the structures with jewels, lace, feathers, handmade flowers and bows or mysterious veiling adds to the drama of the headpiece; it makes each one unique.
